Hey hey! I’m 22(as of July 1st)🎉 There’s a lot of people who don’t love their birthday, but that is definitely not me! July is the best month in my opinion by far, and what better way to kick it off other than a birthday? Everything has been super busy over here at the O’Barr’s(check out the O’Barr Life Update to find out about our house flipping and other recent adventures), so I’m posting my birthday posts now after things have settled down. I thought I’d share our recent travels for my 22nd Birthday Trip!
So this whole trip was a total surprise! Which is actually saying a lot because Josh is absolutely terrible at keeping things a surprise haha. The day before my birthday, Josh suggested that we go to I-Hop. I protested because I thought we’d been eating out too often, but he bribed me with french toast… so we went. Afterwards, we were driving along and I didn’t even notice that we were going the wrong way. Pretty soon I saw a “Rental Cars this way” sign and it hit me. Were we getting a rental car? “But I thought we had planned things here in Birmingham?” I asked myself. He bursted out laughing and he couldn’t hold it in any longer. We were renting a car for a road trip for my birthday!
Where were we going?- All he would tell me was that it was about 2 and a half hours away and that it was the biggest of “this thing” in the whole world. I had no idea what it was or where we were going. Honestly, I usually figure things out and just go along with it, but I was completely stumped! On the way we joked about how we were going to see “The Biggest Peach in the whole world!” after we passed the Georgia border haha.
“Haha! Look at the cute penguin on that bill board!” I said to Josh. He just smiled widely. I had no idea I had just pointed out where we were going. (Apparently he wondered if I had figured it out somehow).
We rolled up to the Hilton in Atlanta, Georgia!🍑 I don’t know why, but ever since I was a kid I had always dreamed of staying at the Hilton. He made it happen! Thanks, love.
I had been craving a burger(in the summer I’m always craving a burger), so we went to this amazing burger place called The Vortex. It was honestly such a good burger I totally recommend it if you’re ever going through Atlanta. Then we went to Georgia’s Aquarium which is the largest aquarium in the world! Josh and I kind of have this secret obsession with aquariums, so this was perfect! I was so amazed by the size of the tank and the fish! It was so relaxing and serene there. We had a lot of fun at a other exhibits like the dolphins and this cute sea lion show.
For dinner we ate at the Cheesecake Factory and got a Dulce De Leche Cheesecake, and they even put a little blue candle on it and wrote Happy Birthday with hot fudge. Delicious! We drove home than night and came the final celebration- at the lake nearby our house, we lit a lantern and made a wish and released it into the sky! It was amazing. It reminded me of Tangled!
This was my big gift, but Josh even got me other ones! He spoiled me. I’ll be posting what I got in a few days. 🛍🎁
Here’s our vlog that we made! It’s super cool seeing everything in motion.
I always feel different after I’ve turned “one year older and wiser too”.
How about you- do you feel any different on your birthday?
I hope you enjoyed!
